Hey Rukket Nation, Henry Fall and Dana Finkelstein here in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. Today, we're tackling the chipping yips with two essential setup keys. The dreaded yips often stem from improper handle positioning. To overcome this, we're focusing on a more vertical club setup.
From a face-on view, envision a setup where the club aligns more with your body's center, reducing the chance of digging into the turf. Looking down the line, aim for the club's heel or tip to be positioned slightly towards the outside toe. This vertical alignment minimizes digging and promotes a smooth, sweeping motion.
Dana demonstrates this by setting up with a slightly forward-facing club, coupled with a higher handle. Gripping down and allowing her arms to hang naturally, she showcases a graceful swing that eliminates yips and ensures clean strikes. Embrace this setup adjustment to conquer the chipping yips and enhance your short game. Happy chipping!
