Henry Fall here, representing the Mile Lines Golf Academy. Are you seeking to enhance your swing rotation and crush that ball with precision? Well, I've got an exercise that'll do wonders for your game – the Split Grip Drill.
At our academy, we're often asked how to achieve a seamless rotation through the ball. Enter the Split Grip Drill. While you may have encountered it before, I'm putting a unique spin on it. Instead of the usual pump drill, we're focusing on a rotary action. Grab the club, grip it with your right hand about a third of the way down, resembling a hockey stick grip.
As you swing, concentrate on keeping the handle outside your hip, promoting a powerful rotation. Imagine the club becoming an extension of your chest, mimicking other sports where the instrument aligns with your chest through impact.
Practice this at home – turn off and then turn through. Feel that wide, parallel movement between the shaft and your chest. After a few rehearsals, step up and swing. Witness the magic of a perfected impact position through a smooth rotary motion.
Add the Split Grip Drill to your routine and watch your swing rotation become a force to be reckoned with on the course.
