Tommy Fleetwood and Bryson Dechambeau Do This Ball Striking Drill Daily

Hey Rukket Nation! Henry Fall from the Milo Lines Golf Academy here. Today, I'm excited to share one of the simplest yet most effective drills to enhance your ball-striking skills. This drill is a favorite among top pros like Tommy Fleetwood and Bryson DeChambeau and will help you achieve those flush shots you've always dreamed of. The best part? You can practice it easily using the Haack Pro Golf Net from Rukket Sports.

To improve your golf ball striking, you need consistent and immediate feedback on your swing. One straightforward way to achieve this is by creating an obstacle for your swings, just as the pros do. This drill helps ensure you hit the ball cleanly, providing instant feedback if you don’t.

Setting Up the Drill

You’ll need a few markers, like colored golf balls or tees. Place one marker outside your target line and another inside your target line. These markers help you visualize and guide your swing path. The goal is for your club to travel through the path created by these markers without hitting them.

Executing the Drill

With the setup in place, aim for a smooth, controlled swing. Your objective is to make clean contact with the ball while your club moves through the marker path without touching them. If your swing hits the inside marker, it indicates an overly inside-out swing path. Striking the outside marker suggests an outside-in swing path. Use this feedback to adjust and refine your technique.

Additional Tips for Heel Strikes

If you struggle with hitting the ball on the heel or hosel, try an enhanced version of the drill. Position an object like a head cover, shoe, range divider, or bucket just outside the ball, this forces you to avoid the object, promoting better contact and preventing heel strikes.

Improving your ball striking is about consistent practice and immediate feedback. By incorporating these simple obstacles into your daily routine, you'll see significant improvements in your contact and overall golf ball-striking ability.

Integrate this drill into your practice routine with the Haack Pro Golf Net and the Chipping Target, and you’ll be hitting the ball like the pros in no time. Happy golfing, Rukket Nation!
